  Wood prices this year at its highest

  In the 1st quarter of 2022, the price of wood in Latvia has returned to the level of the summer of 2021, when the prices of pine and spruce had already reached the highest point historically. In the 1st quarter of this year, the price of softwood sawlogs increased by as much as 21 euros per cubic meter compared to the 4th quarter of 2021. The price increase can also be observed for birch wood, even though the 1st quarter of the year is not its season.

  Roundwood prices for softwood reach new records

  The situation of the wood market in 2021 is characterized by a rise in prices in the wood market, reaching the historically highest prices of pine and spruce. Taking into account the geopolitical situation at the beginning of 2022, the price increase will continue in 2022 as well, where the sanctions against Russia largely affects the increase in the price of wood.
